We had so much fun with your campers this week! Here is video we showed at celebration!
Our last worship this morning was mostly a recap of all the things we learned throughout the week. We talked about what we learned about David with his encounters with Saul and Goliath. We also talked about all of the parables Jesus told to his people that we read throughout the week. One theme we had this week was "God made us all awesome." To go along with us being awesome, the campers were also reminded that God will always love us the same, there is nothing we can do to make God love us less.
This morning we sang:
Rise and Shine

This evening during worship the campers heard the parable of the Good Samaritan. There was a sickly man lying alongside the road and all these people were passing him, and the only person to stop was an average Samaritan.
The kids learned to love on their enemies instead of be an enemy back. After worship, the kids had a lot of fun singing different campfire songs that they cannot wait to share with you tomorrow and in the days to follow!
This morning the campers continued to learn more about the story of David. We looked at 1 Samuel 24. David cut the corner of Saul's robe and then confessed to Saul what he had done. The campers were asked if there were any times in their lives where they had done something they knew they should not have.
This story helps teach the kids about treating their enemies in a good way rather than in a vengeful way.
Songs this morning were:
O Happy Day
I Just Wanna Be A Sheep
My Rock, My Sword, My Shield
This evening the campers had a special visitor during worship time. A Guinness Book of World Records Speed Sling Shotter came to do a demonstration for us. With our story this morning about David conquering Goliath with his sling shot, this was very fitting. Here's a video of MJ using his sling shot!
This morning during worship the campers learned even more about David. The story this morning was David's triumph over the giant Goliath. Even though David was a little guy, he did big things. God helps us to be victorious in our activities every day, whether they are big or small. (1 Samuel 17)
To tell the story this morning, there was a skit put on by a couple of counselors. Their roles were guardian angels and they told in depth how David was victorious.
This morning's worship was in the dining hall due to the intense showers happening outside. However, the weather did not dampen our learning. We learned about David's service to Saul. David played the harp to calm Saul down. That job may not seem really important to others, but it was important to keep Saul under control.
This morning at worship the kids sang Rise and Shine to help wake them up and start the day!
This evening at worship the campers learned about deciphering between a herder and a shepard. We learned that Jesus is our Good Shepard. We sang a few good songs:
My Rock, My Sword, My Shield God's Not Dead Happy Day
This morning the campers had so much fun with their cabin groups. The Strawberry Hill cabins tested out the Adventure Trail, which is our team building activity. Hickory Hill cabins got their turn on GOLIATH, our giant swing! Check out more pictures here!
This morning at worship, the campers began learning the story of David. Throughout the week they will continue to look at and study the story of David. During this morning's lesson, the kids learned that David was chosen to be king even though he was the smallest and weakest of his family.
However, God does not solely look at us from the outside, but also cares about our insides. This morning's story can be found in 1 Samuel 16:1-13. The song this morning was: Rise and Shine
This evening at worship the campers learned about using their skills wisely. They heard the story of the wise man who built the house on a rock and the foolish man who built his house in the sand. In the end, they were taught to build their salvation upon the rock, Jesus Christ.
We are so excited to spend this week with your kids! Everyone is here and settled in.
