Climbing Wall

The third and final family group is finishing up at the climbing wall this morning! It’s such an awesome experience for campers and teaches them about the importance of trusting God.

Something to Celebrate

Today is the day parents and children are finally reunited after a week of camp! It’s been an incredible week at Camp Rivervale as campers have learned about Jesus and the many signs of his love. They’ve spent the week searching for God’s treasure and discovered that each and every one of them is a treasure to Him! Remember that closing celebration starts at 6:00pm!

thursday-friday

Talent Show!!!

8:28pm

Now it’s time for the talent show to wrap up as the staff performs a special finale for campers!

8:18pm

Mackenzie and Morgan just performed a dance in the talent show! Such great rhythm!

8:15pm

That was a fantastic rendition of Für Elise! It felt like sitting in a concert hall! She got a standing ovation!!!

8:10pm

Trevor just performed the “Cup Song” and it was AWESOME!!! Now Faith is getting ready to play Für Elise on the keyboard!

8:00pm

Before tonight’s worship service, campers have gathered at the Tabernacle and are putting on their own talent show… and a talented group they are! So far, there has been music, skits, and even a mind reading trick!

Canoeing

The third and final family group of campers went canoeing today and saw some of God’s treasure – including a bald eagle! Exploring nature in new and interesting ways is truly an awesome experience for everybody!

wednesday-thursday

Water Games

Campers did some very unique water games in the pool tonight. They tried their hand at swimming a serving tray (complete with plate, bowl, and cup) across the pool without dropping anything. Next, lifeguards Matt, Sydney, and Megan led a session of water aerobics. Finally the session ended with a hilarious session of synchronized dancing in the pool!

Fun on the Slide!

tuesday-wednesday

A Trip to Treasure Island

The “Eagles” family group went on a search for treasure today…. But it wasn’t just any treasure! They were in search of God’s treasure. A morning nature hike showed them just how beautiful the outdoors is and how awesome our God’s creation really is! After this, campers got the opportunity to try their hand at archery. Finally, after a morning of fun, the “Eagles” gathered around the campfire and roasted hot dogs and made apple pie in the Dutch oven. It was a great morning filled with fun and God’s amazing creation!

monday-tuesday

Spider Web

5t5a8321
Campers are learning how to work together as they tackle the “Spider Web.” In this fun activity, they must pass through different spots in the web of ropes… without touching the ropes! It might sound simple, but it isn’t nearly as easy as it looks!

Swim Time

Campers beat the heat this afternoon at the pool! As you can see, we have some innovative campers this week that have figured out how to turn a swim noodle into a hose! There is much fun to be had with God’s blessing of water!

sunday-monday

Evening Worship

This evening, campers gathered at the Tabernacle, and sang along as Assistant Program Manager Matt Hacker played guitar. The songs for the evening included Undignified, Shout to the Lord, and Lord, I Lift Your Name on High. These classic songs of praise got the evening going as campers transitioned into a skit from staff members reenacting Jesus’s parable of the pearl. Then campers listened to Director Betty Ann Garrett read a story about God’s gift of communion, what it means, and how it is a sign of his love. The evening concluded with campers taking communion.

Director’s Welcome

Campers will begin arriving in just a few hours! It’s going to be an exciting week at Camp Rivervale as we become pirates and explore the glories of God’s treasure and dig into the treasure map of His Word!
