Today the kids heard about a heroes that stand for truth! This hero was Paul's nephew who just happened to be the kids age! It was really great for them to hear about a hero that is their own age! Now they are off to their morning rotations.

Tonight the kids heard about the ultimate superhero. Jesus! They heard about how much He loves us and how He saved the day by dying on the cross for our sins. They then had time to pray as a cabin and thank God for their time here at Camp Lakewood.

After a great day of play the kids needed a great meal! Today for lunch they sloppy joes, chips, and pears!
Today at discovery time the kids got to act out the story! They acted out the story of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37

Tonight at Vesper Hill the kids heard about a man who stepped out on faith. Despite no one else praying for rain, he continued praying! And guess what! The rain came! Now they know that stepping out on faith really works!
Tonight we had a great meal! The kids enjoyed pizza, brocoli, breadsticks, and dirt pudding!
Today for lunch we had an American Classic! Corn dogs, mac n cheese, salad, and mandarin oranges.

Tonight at Vesper Hill the kids heard a story about a hero who took action. This hero was Jesus! They then got glow sticks and sang This Little Light of Mine. Now they are off to bed!
We had a great dinner tonight! We enjoyed some chicken tenders, corn, and smiley fries. They all have big smiles like the smiley fries after this dinner!
It is Tuesday, so you know what that means? Taco Tuesday!! Today the kids enjoyed a meal of tacos, nachos, salad, and churros!
Today at discovery time the kids heard about a hero named Moses. He took action and helped get the Israelites out of slavery! The story came from Exodus 14! Check it out!

Tonight the kids read a book called Because I Love You
by Max Lucado. The story is about a hero, Shaddai, who does the unexpected. Now they are off to get a good nights rest!
Tonight the kids are having a very Italian dinner! They are having lasagna roll ups, breadsticks, and green beans! Then they are having yellow cake for dessert! They are also getting to know their new Lakewood family and building friendships.
The kids are going to have a great lunch today! They will be having chicken sandwiches, tater tots, and pears!
Daily Director Greeting###Discovery Time! Today at discovery time the kids learned the story of a slave girl who did the unexpected and helped her master become healed from leprosy. They were challenged to do the unexpected throughout the day! Today at Vesper Hill, a holy place where we worship each night, the kids talked about how they can be a hero to other people. The focus was on how they can find ways to help others in big and small ways. They read a book called Maddi's Fridge . It is a great story of how kids like them can be heroes! Check it out!

Our first meal together was great! Tonight the kids had hamburgers, fries, salad,and applesauce! Now they are off to do the swim test and games!
