Communion Commencement

2014 Graduates led a moving communion service for campfire time this evening. Students walked silently into the tabernacle, where graduates washed underclassmen’s hands. After, students and staff took communion together and heard testimonies of graduates and how God used their camp experiences to change their lives. I4062 196

Winding Down in Worship

Tonight, Director Linda creatively summed up this week’s verse, Micah 6:8. Earlier in the day, campers focused on the last instruction to, “walk humbly with your God.” Wrapping up the week, students were challenged to focus on a small but powerful word in the verse: AND. God did not give us an option to “act justly” or “love mercy” or “walk humbly.” He does, however, instruct his kids “to act justly, love mercyAND walk humbly with your God.” It may seem overwhelming at times, but that is when we look to God and his grace to give us strength! Morning Worship

Breaking down our theme verse, Micah 6:8, students are looking at Isaiah’s response to being called by the Lord. How can we be used by the Lord when we’ve sinned and feel inadequate and unworthy? Well from Isaiah’s example we see that because the Lord makes us righteous, we can now be the hands and feet of Jesus. We can look at injustice in the world and respond like Micah,

Winding Down in Worship

Tonight students heard from Spiritual Director Linda, and took a second glance at the spiritual theme this week from Micah 6:8. As Christians, sometimes there seems to be a lot of “rules” and lists of “do’s” & “don’t” in the Bible. It is easy to get information overload and feel like God set the bar too high for us to be “good enough” for himself. Linda took students back to Micah 6:8, where God simply tells us what he requires of us. His directions are simple and his grace is more than enough as we learn how to “walk humbly with our God.” ” And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.”

Campfire Devotions

After worship and a short message, students have an evening snack and hang out time before they enter into campfire devotions. The students are divided into four huddle groups for the week where they discuss the day’s theme, lesson, and plan one nightly devotion for all of camp. Tonight, Huddle B did an awesome job summing up today’s lesson “Finding Significance.” Students took time writing down what made them feel insecure and unworthy, and through them in the fire, at the foot of the cross and took up the truth of God’s word that they were made complete in Christ!

Winding Down in Worship

The team of directors here this week are incredible and dedicated to making this week a safe place for campers to spend quality time with Jesus. Their goal is to use every activity, every conversation, and every time in worship to bring campers closer to Jesus. Tonight, directors shared secrets to getting the most of the camp experience. 1. Be yourself 2. Carpe Diem 3. Jesus is here RIGHT NOW, and is excited to spend time with you. Don’t wait :) Campfire time tonight allowed for students to spend time in prayer in order to spend quality time with God. Keep your kids in prayer this week as they fight distractions to hear the voice of God and the peace he has for them. MG9557
