The Message:

Tonight's message was focused on servanthood. Just as Jesus washed the disciple's dirty feet, we need to humble ourselves. Instead of being fake servants, we need to be all in and willing to help each other. When we are truly serving, we make a difference in our own lives and in others'.

Demonstration:

The campers had the opportunity to serve each other communion and pray over one another!

Scripture:

  1. 1 Peter 5:2
  2. John 13:4-5

Spiritual Focus

Songs:

  1. We Are Free
  2. Unstoppable God
  3. Sinking Deep

The Message:

Tonight's theme was about taking the plunge into our faith. PC spoke about being a disciple in Christ and that we have to give up everything to follow Him. When we are surviving, we are a disciple of the world, but when we thrive we are a disciple of God. We don't want to be lukewarm Christians, we want to be all in!

Demonstration:

The campers picked up small wooden crosses to symbolize picking up their cross for Christ. They then had the opportunity to pray with the staff and counselors to get blessed with oil.

Scripture:

  1. 1 John 2:15
  2. Romans 12:2

Messy Games!

For tonight's messy games, the campers had to pick letters out of a pool of slime! The catch was that they weren't allowed to use their hands!

Campfire Cookout

It's a classic camp experience to cook hot dogs and smores around the fire! The campers all got to bond and experience this great tradition.

The Blob

This sunny weather means it's a great day for blobbing and swimming in the lake!

Low Ropes

Teamwork is a big deal at Camp Adventure! At low ropes today, the campers learned to work together to finish the obstacles. They couldn't do it without believing in themselves and their cabinmates.

Spiritual Focus

Songs:

  1. Oceans
  2. Here I Am To Worship

The Message:

Tonight PC spoke about the difference between light and dark. When we are surviving, we are living in darkness. When we are thriving, we are living alongside God in the light. We are called to be the light of the world, so we need to commit to shine our light for Him. God's purpose on earth was for us to live in the light and He is the only one who can extinguish our darkness!

Demonstration:

The campers lit candles to symbolize their commitment or recommitment to Christ!

Scripture:

  1. John 12:35
  2. Ephesians 5:14

Taking a Leap

The high dive at the pool is always a great place to be!

High Ropes!

The high ropes course is one of the ways campers learn to conquer their fears at camp. They learn that they are safely secured and protected by God the entire way through the course!

Rockin' It!

It was a beautiful day to climb the rock wall here at Camp Adventure! The campers could choose between the easy and the medium/hard side to climb. They got to finish the wall with a double zip-line!

Songs:

  1. You Make Me Brave
  2. Alive and Free
  3. Empty Me

The Message:

Tonight PC spoke about our sin. When we are in survival mode, we do not know we are sinful. We keep turning back to our sinful ways instead of towards God. When we are thriving, we understand we are sinful and face God alone. We need to persevere in our faith!

Demonstration:

The campers wrote one sin they were struggling with on paper and burned it in the campfire. This symbolizes Jesus taking away our sins.

Scripture:

  1. Romans 3:23
  2. Acts 3:19

3...2...1...BLOB!

It was a perfect day for blobbing!

Circle Time

Every day, the campers get to have "Circle Time" with their groups. This means that they do the daily bible study that goes along with the day's theme. Today the campers are going to focus on praying and connecting to God and each other.

Paintball

At paintball, the campers get to play team elimination, capture the flag, and the Alamo! It's a great way for them to work together while having an exciting experience!

Songs:

  1. Alive in Us
  2. Your Love Never Fails

The Message:

For tonight's message, the campers learned about the theme this week! We were meant as humans to thrive instead of just survive. When we are in survive mode, we know about God and are aware of others. When we are thriving, we connect with God and others. Just like legos connect, we can connect with God and each other.

Scripture:

  1. John 15:5
  2. Matthew 22: 37-39

Welcome Campers!

It's the first day of camp and the enthusiasm is already through the roof! This is going to be a great week for campers to try new things and grow in their faith!
