Closing Celebration Video
Today’s the Day!
Even though today is the last day for your campers here at Camp Adventure, they are all still very happy and excited to be here. They have made many new friends throughout the week, and many have also made a new relationship with Christ. In addition to new friendships being formed, existing friendships have been strengthened. Your campers have had an amazing week here, and they are very excited to see you this evening and tell you all about this week!
How do we be like Christ?
As a youth, Bob wanted to be lots of things. He was passionate about each new thing he wanted to be. Paul was passionate about who he was. He was transformed into someone entirely new after meeting Christ. Paul wanted to tell everyone he was transformed. His desire was to be like Jesus. Is there a way we can do the same? We aren’t perfect. We can try out hardest, but perfection isn’t attainable.
Ask people how they are Christlike. Counselors have been like Christ all week. They want the best for you. They acted out of love, and they want you to know Christ’s love. He loved us before He knew us. You will have opportunities in your life where you have to decide to be Christlike or not. One choice is the light path and the other path is the dark path. Don’t get in deeper if you make a wrong choice.
Love like Jesus loves.
Tonight for dinner, your campers enjoyed tacos and nachos with many toppings, including ground beef, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, shredded cheese, and sour cream. They also had corn and churros. Now, they’re ready to go down the slip n’ slide in the valley! Check back for some photos of the action!!
The View From Way Up
This afternoon, some of your campers overcame their fears at our high ropes course and rock wall! They all did a great job encouraging each other and helping one another face the fears they were feeling. We are so proud of all the progress your campers have made this week!
On the lunch menu today was ham and turkey sub sandwiches (with just about every topping known to man), watermelon, potato chips, and salad. Your campers are prepared to take on the challenges and adventures of the afternoon!
Good Morning, Camp Adventure!!
Today, your campers are prepared to have a blast on their last full day here at CA. They had bacon, french toast sticks, bagels, cereal, fruit, and yogurt for breakfast. Now, they are having a time of morning worship, followed by cabin devotions, Home In The Woods Groups, and then lunch!
Tonight, Shawn talked about how people conquer their fears in different ways.
God changed Saul to Paul, showing us that He can use people with the roughest of pasts. People that have made bad choices, colossal mistakes. God still uses them. Why wouldn’t God use us?
God still saw something worth saving in Paul. God chose Paul, worst of the worst, there’s no reason He wouldn’t choose and use us. God has a plan for each of us. Paul didn’t know what was going on. Find story in Acts. Paul didn’t know what he was doing. God led him regardless of whether or not Paul understood what was happening. Paul had to put pieces together. Gradually, Paul did so.
We want everything to be figured out. And fall into place.
It doesn’t always work that way. God has a plan for all of us.
The world needs people who are alive. Find something that makes you feel like the puzzle pieces are there. Listen to God and what He says. Getting angry with God when things don’t go your way is when God shows up. Let your dreams die so God can tell you what His plans for you are. All the pieces will fall into place. Sometimes they fall apart. They change and morph, and God has a different plan sometimes. He changes things. Know that God does change plans for your life. When He does, the pieces fall back into place. It’s our job to help one another find the pieces and rely on others to help us.
God has a place for us.
When we find it, it feels really right.
Part of following Jesus is trusting his plan.
Tonight, at Camp Adventure, a zombie was in our midst. What began as a single zombie morphed into a lone survivor. Ask your campers how they were infected when they return home!
This evening, your campers had hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, and s’mores for dinner! Now, they’re getting ready for messy games! Be sure to ask them all about it when they get home!
This afternoon, I got the opportunity to lead two FANTASTIC groups though low ropes! It was great to see them working together and relying on one another for support and encouragement. Low ropes is a great place to build teamwork and new friendships!
Home In The Woods
Home In The Woods Groups are pairings of cabins that get together to do activities and devotions together. This week, they have come up with names: Yellow Fanny Packs, the Blue Bombers, the Brown Polar Bears, the Orange Gingers, the Rednecks, the Black Ninjas, and the Gray Gravel (they rock).
Good Morning, Camp Adventure!
So far, it’s shaping up to be an absolutely beautiful day here at Camp Adventure! Your campers are looking lively and awake, and ready for the day’s first activities! After a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, hash browns, cereal, fruit, bagels, and yogurt, your campers have restored energy and are ready to go!
- David had trust and faith in God throughout his life.
- The ark of the covenant was a symbol of God’s presence with them, It would be placed in the temple.
- King David knows about the ark of the covenant and he wants it to be where he is and he is overjoyed and is dancing with joy. His wife is not happy about the way King David is acting but he says that he will celebrate God’s presence in the way that he feels led to, ‘I will become more undignified than this’
- There are multiple ways to celebrate God: dancing, serving others, volunteering time, praising God.
- The things that are prioritized in your life will show through your actions and behaviors
- Practice makes us better, like in sports or music, and you make it a priority–it’s the same with relationships with friends and family but more importantly our relationship with God.
- God wants to be your friend and your God and you can practice your relationship with God
How to work on our relationship with God:
- read the Bible, learn about who God is
- prayer, talk to God on a regular basis, communicate with him: your joys, hurts, thoughts. Talk to Him like you would your best friend.
- give God as much effort (and more) as you can and that he deserves
Everyone is welcome to Christ’s table
Communion is done on remembrance of what Jesus Christ did for us: He died on the cross for our salvation and forgiveness of sins.
Have you done something bad and sinned?–if so, tell God
Have you done something to glorify God and help others?-if so, praise God and celebrate his love.

Monday Evening Worship
Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
If something gets in the way of God, get rid of it.
You don’t search for the things you don’t care about. God cared about us enough to go searching for us.
It’s important to have friends that support you and lead you towards Christ.
When you get to know god better, it’s easier to understand life and what you’re supposed to do.
Jesus holds your hand throughout life. He wants to encourage us. God will come through when we need him to.
Sin builds barriers between you and God but Jesus came to save us from our sin.
Jesus conquered sin and death and all we have to do is believe.
Painting on the wall to express who God is and what he’s done in our lives
Your campers got the chance to go through their first activity rotation today, but the second rotation got rained out. They’ll get the chance to make up what they missed later n in the week! We’re praying this rain lets up so we can have some fun valley games this evening!
Today for lunch, your campers enjoyed corn dogs, macaroni&cheese, salad, and peaches. Now, they’re off to horizontal hour, and then their afternoon activities!
This morning, after breakfast, your campers split up into their Home In The Woods Groups for a little more time to get to know each other, and also to do devos. After that, they gathered together to play some fun games, and participate in a lesson on competition and why we always feel like we have to win.
Good Morning, Camp Adventure!
It’s the perfect morning to start an absolutely FANTASTIC week here at Camp Adventure!! Your campers enjoyed pancakes, sausage links, cereal, fruit, and yogurt for breakfast, and now they’re out and about doing devotions with their Home In The Woods Groups!
A prayer of praise to God
It talks about how special God is.. But we can also get out of it how special WE are.
Theme: I’m just a kid.. Why would God want to talk to me?
1 Samuel 3
Young Samuel was serving God under Eli’s direction.
All of us start in a place where we don’t know god for ourselves… But we have to come to a place where we know god personally.
Samuel could have said “I’m just a kid.. Why is god talking to me ?”
Is God not talking or are people just not listening?
What are things that get in the way of listening to God?
God wants to talk to us.
Samuel didn’t know it was God’s voice at first, but God used Eli to help instruct Samuel.
Sometimes people have troubles in their lives, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be helpful.
You are all gifted. God made you the way he did for a reason.
Play dough- make a sculpture
Reflect on something you’ve done because you thought God was telling you to do so.
This evening, after dinner, your campers split into their Home In The Woods Groups and took part in a camp-wide scavenger hunt! They were led all across Camp Adventure in search of clues as to where the next spot to find was! A good time was had by all, and it gave them a great opportunity to get to know one another even better!
Your campers have already gotten all settled in to their cabins! They just finished up a dinner of hamburgers, french fries, salad, corn, and dirt pudding!! Now, they’ve headed out to the valley to do some team building and group games!!
Today’s the Day!!
