Songs:

  1. Interlude
  2. Start a Fire
  3. Our God is Greater

The Message:

Tonight the campers learned the difference between following the crowd and following the cross. We should strive to be a disciple of Christ rather than a disciple of the world. As middle schoolers, the campers are learning to find their identities. The message tonight demonstrated that we should find who we are through God. We are loved, free, and joyful.

Demonstration:

The campers wrote "Today I am______" on a piece of black paper and then took up their own little wooden crosses. This symbolizes that we need to follow Christ's example and love like Him.

Scripture:

  1. 1 John 2:15
  2. Romans 12:2

Bonfire

After an emotional night of worship, campers are celebrating their new-found faith with a bonfire! They are feasting on smores and having great faith-filled conversations with their friends.

Commitment Night

Tonight was full of new beginnings as many of the campers committed or re-committed their lives to Christ. The stage was flooded as campers lit candles to signify they wanted freedom from sin.

Songs:

  1. Amen
  2. Now is the Time to Worship
  3. God's Not Dead

The Message:

Tonight's message told campers that they do not have to just survive in the darkness of sin but that they can thrive in the light of Christ. God's vision was for the whole earth and His children to be covered with His light. Our sin caused us to fall into darkness, but Christ's death gave us a new beginning. We can choose to live in his light and turn away from our own darkness.

Scripture:

  1. John 12:35
  2. Ephesians 5:14
  3. John 8:12

The Message:

The director spoke about the two different modes of living: survival mode and thriving mode. In survival mode, we may not know we are sinful. When we are thriving, we understand right from wrong. This does not mean we always choose the right way. We need to own our sin and understand that with God, we can change our ways. We need to turn 180 degrees away from our sin so that we are facing God instead.

Demonstration:

Sam, a 6th grader, was given a bucket of logs. The logs were so heavy to carry that he had to drop them almost instantly. The logs represent how heavy our sin can be when we have to carry it ourselves. The students got to write one sin they struggled with on paper and burn it in a fire along with the logs.

Scripture:

  1. Romans 3:23
  2. 1 John 1:9
  3. Acts 3:19

Smugglers vs. Spies

Tonight the campers will be participating in a legendary Camp Adventure game. The campers and staff will dress in all black to camouflage themselves as they play Smugglers vs. Spies in the valley.

Lip-Sync Off!

Rain doesn't stop Camp Adventure from having a blast! The staff hosted a humorous lip-sync battle that the campers got to judge. Below is a video of the group that won every camper's laugh.

Starting the Day with Worship

The campers start off their day with an enthusiastic worship session! The song "Thrive" is played to go along with this week's theme.

Songs:

  1. "It's All Because of Jesus"
  2. "Manifesto"

The Message:

Today the campers learned about our theme for the week, "Thrive." They learned that there is a difference between surviving life and thriving with Jesus. For example, to survive is to know about God, but to thrive is to connect with Him. Without God we are limited, but with Him we are limitless.

Scripture:

  1. 1 Timothy 4:12
"Do not let anyone look down upon you because you are young"

  2. Matthew 22:37-39

  3. John 15:5
