The campers this morning played Bingo before lunch, and got to win little prizes! Everyone is so sad to leave today, but we have made so many memories, and it's a blessing to see every camper grow closer and closer to God.
It's amazing to experience their journey and see how God is working through their hearts and lives. Countless stories and memories will be remembered and told from this breathtaking week at Epworth. Everyone is dreading saying goodbye, but everyone is also looking forward to next year!
Don't forget that you can always check here for more photos of the campers from this week!
Oceans Of Grace
Can you believe that the week is almost over? It's already Thursday!
This morning we discussed God's never-ending grace and how He is always here for us, in times of light and dark.
Like the Bible says:
God is all mercy and grace— not quick to anger, is rich in love.
He is so forgiving of all the wrongs we have done, and things we have said. God's grace is like an ocean, unfathomable in depth, and as far as the eye can see. And unlike the Earth, whose water only covers 71% of the planet, God's love is never-ending, it covers everything.
Here is a morning update from the lovely Sara, our Assistant Program Manager!
Young Adult and Adult campers participate in Storytelling, Crafts and games, every morning from 9:30 to lunch at noon. Here are some photos from their activities!
This afternoon's Jamboree was a blast! Braden from Epworth Summer Staff led us in a few songs:
Pastor Dave led us in some scripture, and said that we don't have to worry about tomorrow, that God has His way.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Sailing Through Time
It's been 50 years since the first campers of REYOAD stayed at Epworth Forest! We had a special celebration to remember all the memories campers have made over the years. A few special guests made an appearance, those that have been coming here or working here since they very first summer.
Pastor Dave talked about how blessed we are to have this place to congregate, and that there are many more years to come of blessings and joy; these campers have given the camp that.
He then blessed bread and grape juice as the campers and staff participated in the first Holy Communion in the new Discipleship Center. While taking Communion, those in their seats sang along to The Anchor Holds by Ray Holtz.
It was awe-inspiring to see everyone just give their hearts over to Christ and turn in their troubles and worries and just enjoy the moment they are in right now.
Check out the photos from the evening below! You can find many more from tonight here!
Afterwards, everyone headed to the Dining Hall for a 50th Anniversary celebration! Cake and ice cream floats were served, and everyone pitched in singing Happy Anniversary to REYOAD.
Look below for some pictures from the lovely night! And check out more at the gallery!
Campers this morning participated in another gorgeous day of boating and fishing out on the lakefront.
After lunch, everyone headed to the Beach House to listen and sing along with the Jamboree! Pastor Dave finished the worship with a great hymn and a challenge:
When you are down and need help, never feel like you can't ask for help from a friend.
He shared a great testimony about a time when he was really down and didn't know what to do or where to go and a friend gave him a shoulder to lean on and gain strength in a tough area.
He furthermore talked about how Jesus had friends and needed them too.
It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth.
And if one falls down, the other helps,
But if there’s no one to help, tough!
You can find this Bible verse here.
After Jamboree, campers were invited to stay in the Beach House and buy snacks and soda from the counter or go down to the water and swim!
Seas The Day
It's finally here! Campers have began to get ready for the nautical-themed gala tonight. They are being treated to spa-like treatment. Everything from getting their nails done, to their hair being curled, applying cologne and tying ties!
A Whale Of A Time
Due to potential bad thunderstorms drifting towards North Webster, the gala this evening had to be cut a little short...but this didn't stop everyone from having a good time!
Everyone was dancing, smiling and tapping their toes along to the music! Here are some photos from the glamorous night!

Hooked On Jesus
Today campers woke up to a hot and muggy morning, but still were enthusiastic about worshipping at the lakeside chapel. Staff member Braden led the campers in song:
Pastor Dave led everyone in a short devotional after worship. He talked about how we are taught from when we are little to not talk to strangers or trust people we don't know.
Yet, we are challenged to follow Jesus, and so were the disciples. They had to give up everything and follow this man they didn't really know.
Passing along the beach of Lake Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew net-fishing. Fishing was their regular work. Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass." They didn’t ask questions. They dropped their nets and followed.

Anchored In Faith
It's the first full day of camp and everyone is eagerly anticipating the activities for today! Campers started off the morning with a lakeside worship led by some of the talented staff; Pastor Dave added a verse of hymns also!
This morning the campers are going fishing and boating which is a great reminder to us all that life may not always give you what you want at the moment (like seaweed) but if you are patient, God will give you what you need, whether it be a fish, or an answered prayer!
Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!
You can find the Bible verse and more of the story here.
Here are some photos from today's fishing and boating activities!
And as always, you can view more photos in our gallery!
Today our first campers arrived! It is such a blessing to finally get to have the REYOAD campers back at Epworth! Everyone was so excited; they cannot wait for the many activities we have planned for this week!
After the campers got settled in, we gathered at the new Bishop Mike and Marsha Coyner Discipleship Center to have a ribbon cutting! The campers got the opportunity to walk the halls of the new building, check out the auditorium, and play games in the lobby. The REYOAD campers seemed to be just as excited about the Discipleship Center as we are!
It was incredible to see the pure excitement and joy on everyone's faces - and it's merely day one of REYOAD 2017! The staff cannot wait to experience God's love and grace this week with the campers.
Our theme this year is to be anchored in Jesus. Many of the campers have donned sailor hats and made nautical-themed crafts this afternoon. We will continue to see how God can work his ocean-wide grace through the week and in the lives of everyone.
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace For I am Yours and You are mine
This comes from the song by Hillsong, you can find it here
