Thank you to everyone that came this week! Here's a video recapping all that we accomplished:
Happy (and slightly moist) Thursday everyone!
Today, the Raccoons get their shot at conquering the rock wall while the Eagles have family time.
Today in family time, we learned that the greatest story
in the Bible ever is that of Jesus' resurrection. We read the story of the men on the road to Emmaus and how they unknowingly told Jesus his ow story. This time, our teaching comes from Luke 24:13-32.
For dinner today, we did a cookout! Hotdogs and s'mores!
And after that was the camp talent show.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Our day started off with a worship session full of fun songs and a powerful message, reaffirming that God is working through us, with us, and on us.
After worship, the Eagles went to the climbing wall!
Meanwhile, the Raccoons learned in family time all about how Jesus fills us spiritually. The lesson comes from John 6: 25 - 40.
After dinner, we watched Big Hero 6 for movie night, and then it was time for evening worship before bed.
Good Tuesday morning everybody! To start off our day, the Raccoons went canoeing while the Eagles had family time.
During family time today, we talked about how important it is to go out and serve others. To continue His work, Jesus told his disciples to go out into the world. As modern-day disciples, we are called to do the same. This lesson is based off of Luke 10: 1-17.
We were lucky to get all this in before the rain hit. Once it did, we were safe in our cabins.
Parents: We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Smugmug passwords you received at check-in have changed. An email should be sent to you with the updated passwords. Thank you for your patience.
Good morning and happy Monday! Rivervale campers received a special surprise when the local AirEvac team landed their helicopter on camp this morning! The kids got to ask questions, look inside the helicopter, and find out just what it takes to be a field medic.
After the helicopter left, the Eagles went canoeing on the river while the Raccoons had family time. Today's family time lesson was about sacrifice and what it takes to follow Jesus. The teaching came from Matthew 8: 18-22.
This week's memory verse is Philippians 1:6:
...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Later on in the day was messy games and then evening worship.
To begin this week, I want to post a heartfelt thank you. To parents and guardians: thank you for trusting us with your kids. To the kids at camp: thank you for coming! None of what is to follow would be possible without you all.
With that said, happy check-in day! Today is the first day where the campers will make new friends and begin to enjoy the camp experience.
After getting set up in cabins and spending some time getting to know each-other, the campers were able to get in the pool! Some swim tests were in order, and then on to the fun!
