Celebration!

At the end of camp it is a time to celebrate the week, and what all the campers have done. They may have conquered a fear of heights, made new friends, or learned more about God this week. This is the time that we celebrate all of those things! Check out the video from this week!

##Last Day!! Well, today is the day that campers get to come home. The campers are excited to see everyone, but they are also sad to be leaving camp. ##Worship! Worship was speechless tonight. The campers sang the song "Our God" tonight, but even after the song stopped the campers kept singing without the music. It was such an awe moment! Linda, went on to talk about when Jesus rose from the grave, and how the women felt when they found Jesus' grave empty. The clip that went with the story was also from " The Chronicles of Narnie: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", where Aslan raises from the dead because his sacrifice was pure just like Jesus' sacrifice was pure. ##Ziplining Today, the second group of camper went down the zip line. They had just as much fun as the first group. It was exciting to see a few campers conquer their fear of heights! ##Good Morning!! Woah! Can you believe that it is already the last full day of camp? It is crazy to think how fast this week has flown by. The campers are having such a fun week, and are learning so much about Jesus. However, there are still a lot of fun things to do before the campers get to return home. Check out what the campers are doing today!

Ziplining!

Today, the first two family groups were able to go down the zip-line. The campers loved it, and it could easily be one of their favorite activities so far. Some of the campers talked about how it was scary climbing up the pole, but the end result was so worth it!

Morning Celebration

Every morning the campers head to the tabernacle for a short time of worship and a chance to wake up. This week "Minute to Win It" games have been played to get the campers awake, and ready for the day. Today the campers were extra excited for the game. Check it out!

Up and At Em'

We have officially made it to the middle of the week. So far this week has been filled with fun activities, and that will continue on into today. Check out what the campers are up to today!

Worship

The campers started worship with a few songs. One of the songs was "Here I Am To Worship". This is a great reminder about what God did for us and who he is.

After the songs, Linda jumped right into what the campers had talked about today during family time.

The Bible story talk today was that Jesus is powerful. The story they told with this was the story of Lazarus. Lazarus was the brother of Mary and Martha, and Mary and Martha were both followers of Jesus. One day Lazarus got really sick, so Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus because they trusted him. They knew that if anyone could do something it would be Jesus. Eventually, Lazarus got so sick that he died. Jesus came to Mary and Martha and felt their sadness, so he fixed the problem. He used his power to raise Lazarus from the dead. Only Jesus was able to do a miracle like this because he was so powerful.

Jesus showed up at the right time. Even though Mary and Martha had to watch Lazarus die, Jesus still showed up and did the right thing. They learned that Jesus really could be trusted.

The campers were able to watch a clip from "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." This clip showed that even though Lucy and Susan thought they were too late to save Mr. Tumnus, Asland showed up and saved him. This is just like the story of Lazarus. So, if we have a friend like Jesus we shouldn't worry about anything. Linda said, " Jesus is like an invisible hug for us." He is here to help us through anything!

Tye Dye Tuesday

This morning after family time the campers were able to have fun tye dying their shirts. This is a lot of fun for the campers, and they get to be creative with the design of the tye dye and what colors they choose to use. The shirts will sit over night and be rinsed out tomorrow. The campers are very excited to see how their shirts come out. No matter what the shirts are going to look awesome!

Rise & Shine!

The campers had an incredibly fun day yesterday, and they have the same in store for today! Check out what the campers have going on today!

Time of Worship!

Today the campers learned about someone who came to save the disciples when a storm came. This person was Jesus, and he was not scared the entire time the storm was going on. Jesus was actually so relaxed that he was sleeping while the storm was happening. Then in the end of the story Jesus comes in and saves the day by calming the storm. This led to the question how can we be calm when things are happening in our lives.
They watched a clip from "Finding Nemo" to demonstrate how someone can come and save us/calm us down in times of trouble. Crush the turtle came and saved Marlon from the jellyfish. Marlon was scared but Crush was calm and relaxed. This shows us how we should be because we have Jesus who is also relaxed and confident, so that's how we should be too.
The campers took some time to talk about times when they were anxious, and who came to calm them down. Then they talked about a time when they helped calm someone down.

Good Morning!

Campers will be headed up to breakfast very soon. Then they will begin their first full day of camp. They have a ton of fun stuff planned for today. Check out what the campers have going on today.

Update

We are getting some rain here at camp. We lost power but everyone is safe and sound for the night in their cabins and dorms for the night. The power was restored very early this morning. The campers who were in the cabins slept nicely in the basement of Armstrong, while everyone else stayed in the dorms. The campers will be headed over to breakfast soon to start their day. Also photos will be up as soon as possible. The power being out made it difficult to upload the photos from Sunday, so keep checking back.

Swim Time Fun!

After the swim tests today, the campers were able to play some pool games. They had a lot of fun, and were able to bond with their family groups. When the games were finished the campers had a little bit of free swim time. It was a blast at the pool!
